Ultimate trip to Edinburgh, Scotland

The Ultimate Trip to Scotland started on The Royal Mile. I can't think of a better way to start a trip to Edinburgh. This iconic street runs through the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, connecting you to the Edinburgh Castle and the historical St. Giles' Cathedral. Paved with cobble stone streets and narrow alleys Edinburgh creates a mystical city with amazing food and drinks

Visit a Local Pub
There are many delicious options in Edinburgh. From pubs to restaurants and cafes we ate our way around Scotland. We started our eating/drinking adventure at Fiddlers Arms. located at the end of Grassmarket and with Edinburgh Castle sitting above.
They are known for good food and live music.
We ordered deep fried brie cheese and a beer.
Make sure to try a glass of the
"Malt of the Moment"
  Best Fish & Chips On
Royal Mile
What's better than fish and chips on a chilly afternoon on. Since, we love fish and chip we had to try.
 decided to get lunch at
The Malt Shovel.
Fish and chips are served with beer battered haddock, crushed peas, triple-cooked chips and tartare sauce.
Husband ate the traditional steak and ale pie-flaky pastry, beef dripping gravy, seasoned green, and triple-cooked chips. We also added a local beer to add to the experience.
 Visit Greyfriar's BobbyStatue
Greyfriars's Bobby was a Skye Terrier who became well known in the 19th century in Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of its owner until he died on January 14th 1872. Now there is a statue in his honor. And visitors come to touch his nose as it will bring you good luck! You can also have lunch at the Greyfriar's Restaurant.
                       Visit a Cafe in Edinburgh
We met the lovely owner of the Knoji cafe in Edinburgh. She makes all the cakes herself. And they were delicious.  The vibe was super relaxed and was not too far from our Airbnb. I highly recommend this place for delicious Persian homemade pastries and a chai tea latte. The reason I am recommending a cafe is because, it rained a lot on our trip, which was fine we come prepared with raincoats and an umbrella. Just to have a place to sit and relax while the rain let up was really nice. And also to enjoy fresh and sweet Persian treats.
Have a Drink-Whiskey Bar on Victoria Street
We stopped to have a drink at the Bow Bar. A local bar with a long list   of whiskey and beer. Enjoy all  the variety of whiskeys and beer. Plus we love a stop in a whiskey bar!
 Visit a Souvenir Shop
I am not usually a souvenir person while traveling. I truly just collect a simple post card or I purchase a local candy to eat on the plane home. On our trip to Edinburgh, I truly enjoyed stepping into the many souvenir shops we found around town.
 Visit Royal Mile
No trip to Scotland is complete without a trip down the Royal Mile. There is so much to see and enjoy just by walking around. The beautiful buildings, the sounds of bagpipes playing in the background. And there is so much history in Edinburgh.
Royal Mile is one of Edinburgh's most famous streets.
Visit Princess Street Gardens
Princess street gardens are two adjacent gorgeous parks in the center of Edinburgh. This park runs parallel to Princess Street, where you will find may shops and dining options.
With Edinburgh Castle as a backdrop, this park is not to be missed on your trip to Edinburgh.
